Galley in the Age of Great Knowledge
2013 wood, ceramic 212 x 358 x H137.5cmThe galley floats towards an unknown destination, propelled by anonymous rowers, learning and absorbing knowledge from an onboard library. The ship is guided by pirate captains from the age of great discovery, and although they compel the rowers, their direction is not granted clearly. The sculpture signifies people especially who became instantly hyper-saturated by knowledge and information about a series of incidents at Fukushima Daiichi Nuclear Plant, but at the same time, without any seeming purpose or sure blueprint for energy reform.
